Learn to skate at Fountain Valley Skating Center!

Our professional teachers are patient and very friendly. They're sure to put you at ease and help you get up and rolling quickly and safely. Beginners are always welcome!

Class skating lessons are available on Saturday mornings from 8:30 AM until 11:00 AM, for all ages and all levels of skating. Three levels of classes are taught by professional skating teachers during this time period:

Level 1 - Primary (Beginner)	Saturday 10:30-11 AM	Beginners learn the basic skills of forward and backward skating, starting and stopping correctly, proper posture and balance.	$10.00/class or $35 for 5 lessons, which can be taken over an 8 week period. Includes skate rental & session from 11-1:30 PM
Level 2 - Secondary	Saturday 10:30-11 AM	Skaters advancing from Level 1 learn secondary skills such as balancing on one foot, forward crossover, and refine backward skating and timing to music.	$10.00/class or $35 for 5 lessons, which can be taken over an 8 week period. Includes skate rental & session from 11-1:30 PM
Level 3 - Intermediate	Saturday 10-10:30 AM	Skaters advancing from Level 2 learn intermediate skills such as advanced backwards skating, beginning dance, turns, beginning jumps and spins.	$12.00/class or $40 for 5 lessons, which can be taken over an 8 week period. Includes skate rental & session from 11-1:30 PM
Level 4 - Advanced	Saturday 10-10:30 AM	Skaters advancing from Level 3 learn advanced skills in preparation to join our competitive Fountain Valley Skating Club.	$12.00/class or $40 for 5 lessons, which can be taken over an 8 week period. Includes skate rental & session from 11-1:30 PM
Level 5 - Junior Club	Saturday 9:30-10:00 AM	Skaters in this class may join Fountain Valley Skating Center's artistic figure skating club. The Fountain Valley Skating Club is recognized as one of the best artistic skating clubs in the United States. Many of our skaters have won Regional, National and World titles.	$45.00/month Includes extra practice periods

ACHIEVEMENT TESTS

To measure the skater's advancement against a set standard, achievement tests are held periodically throughout the year. If the skater is successful, they are rewarded with an Achievement Medal.

COMPETITIVE SKATING

To test the skater's ability against other skaters, competitions are held locally, regionally and nationally. The Fountain Valley Skating Club is recognized as one of the best artistic skating clubs in the United States. Many of our skaters have won Regional and National titles.
